|Recommended: YesIt gets the job done — Cheap apartments for a reason, but the maintenance team was very timely and knowledgeable so the main issues got fixed within a week of getting here. My a c works, no leaking, no mold, no bugs, so all in all I'm pleased with the apartment. The location is great, and everyone seems really friendly
|Recommended: YesGreat place — Not sure yet
|Recommended: YesUniversity Apartment Review — It is a good size one bedroom apartment, furniture is lumpy and a little uncomfortable, not a lot lighting none in the bedroom or living room very clean upon first entry, pretty cute, overall nice first apartment, but I wouldn't live her forever.
|Recommended: YesPractical place 3 years and I am still living here — Close to Duke campus and to Durham main street 20 min walking each, on the bus routes , easy to communicate with staff, pay rent, get packages, ask for maintenance. It is on the expensive side compared to similar size value apartments. I occasionally hear about safety concerns from some residents, but living in the historical building I feel safe. In the end, I am still living here after 3 years, and will likely keep living here until I leave Durham...
|Recommended: YesGreat apartment on a budget — I enjoyed living at University Apartments. You're only a few minutes from downtown, the Durham Bulls ball park, the Duke Gardens, almost everything. The apartment wasn't the most up-to-date, but the price and location definitely make up for it
|Recommended: YesDon't live here They try to charge you wherever they can. Their logic the resident always need to pay even if you have not moved in or already moved out. 1. I was asked to move out on June 24 there are other people trying to move in on July 1st and they still want to charge my utility after I left from June 24 to July 1st. 2. I moved in on Aug. 15 2018, but they charge me for the WHOLE month rent. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES with management 1. When first moved in, I expected them to inspect and make sure everything works. But NO, I need to place a few maintenance orders to fix stuff when I first move in. 2. They always say after you move out, we will process your move out statement in 10days and you are supposed to receive deposit balance in 14 days. Now it's 30 days since I moved out, they made a lot of mistakes on my statement and I don't know when they will mail out the check. 3. when there's an issue, they will try everything to push away their responsibilities.
|Recommended: YesHelpful and reliable — The staff are extremely helpful. I just arrived here a few days ago and I was helped immediately. Whenever I have come into contact with maintenance issues, the staff has gotten back to me right away. Super easy transition moving here from across the country
Thank you for your review and feedback! Glad you had a great move in experience!
|Recommended: YesGreat Value, Excellent for Students and Young Professionals — I have lived at University Apartments for right at 2 years, and I have really enjoyed my experience. This was my first apartment, and I would highly recommend this complex to other students and young professionals. I’ve seen the apartment complex change management while staying here, and I feel like it’s only fair that comment on the current management team and staff. I have found the current staff members to be pleasurable and respectful. For the apartments themselves, I have always thought that my apartment was a great value for its size. Yes, these apartments are old and have quirks and features that show their age. Anybody who wants to live in this complex needs to be realistic in their expectations and be mindful of the fact that these aren’t luxury apartments. Despite the age, I haven’t had any problems with the appliances placed in my apartment. In my floor plan, the living rooms are especially spacious which has been great for entertaining friends. My biggest complaint about the apartments is that I think that the breezeways of the apartments could be better maintained, so that the outside of the apartment matches the quality of the apartments’ interior Where University Apartment really earns their stars is in its location. If you go to school or work around Duke, there is nowhere more convenient to live. Living here puts you within walking distance to the Nasher Art Museum, Duke Gardens, and great local places to grab a bite to eat. Even if you wanted to get to other parts of Durham or venture further out to Raleigh or Chapel Hill, getting there is very quick and easy from the complex. Overall, I have really enjoyed my stay at University Apartments and think it was a great first apartment to welcome me to “real” adulthood

|Recommended: YesThere are roaches everywhere — the neighbors are all lovely but there are roaches in all the hallways that come into the apartments and nothing has been done about it by management
We will be more than happy to send our pest control technician to your apartment. Please call the office so we can add you to the schedule.
|Recommended: YesGood Value for the Price — The location is perfect for students. It is not a luxury or brand new complex, which comes with some issues with heat insulation. However, the office staff is friendly and helpful and the value for the price is great. I recommend this complex for Duke students looking for an affordable place with a very quick commute to campus.
Thanks for the review!
|Recommended: YesLocation — Centrally located, good environment, pet friendly, some issues with mosquitoes, but pest control is up to date. You can hear your neighbor's footsteps upstairs, as well as the water pipes. But overall a good place to live due to location and price of the rent.
Thanks for the review! If you ever have excess noise, please don't hesitate to reach out to us, even after-hours. Glad you've enjoyed UA!
|Recommended: YesGreat Homey Feel — I chose univesity apartments because the buildings have character. the environment does not feel over sterilized in the way that new buildings do. I appreciate the staff and the events and the way that they help facilitate the community feel. I also appreciate the maintence staff who always come through swiftly and take care of my issues.
Thanks for the review! Our team is always here for you!
|Recommended: YesAffordable Apartment — It's an affordable apartment near Duke university.
|Recommended: YesLocation Gold — Perfectly located between both Duke University's West campus and downtown Durham, University Apartments has been one of the best places I've lives in Durham. Although aging, this community is well maintained, priced competitively, and a true joy to be a part of. I recommend attending one of the many socials offered by the fabulous office staff.
